City tours for differently abled persons
I will be happy to put together a tailor-made, individual tour for you so that you, as a traveller or as a differently abled traveller, can enjoy your holiday in Seville to the fullest.
My city tours for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users take place, for the most part, on easily accessible paths, without unnecessary obstacles like stairs or raised curbs. Access to the toilets for the disabled will be included in the tour, if possible. I adapt the guided tours in historical monuments to the structural conditions.
Tours for people with cognitive disabilities are characterised by easy language. The use of visual material provides ample support to the explanations.
People with hearing disabilities and deaf people are welcome to join my guided tours. Unfortunately, I can use only basics of the sign language. For this reason, it is necessary that a companion of the group can interpret the contents.
Since 2003 I have been living in the Andalusian capital Seville and every day I am impressed anew by the impressive history of the city, the lush flora and the special attitude to life.
After completing my studies of languages, economics and cultural studies at the University of Passau, I first developed educational projects for public administration, educational institutions and teacher training courses in Andalusian history and history of art in Seville. Hundreds of Sevillian students, retired persons and teachers from other EU countries have discovered with me the history, traditions and culture of the Andalusian capital.
With the onset of the economic crisis and the freezing of public funds, a change in thinking was called for. After postgraduate studies in German as a foreign language, I worked as a foreign language teacher in Seville for several years before, after further training in tourism, I was able to apply for my official city guide licence to the Junta de Andalucía. Since then I have been enthusiastically showing my guests the hidden treasures of the city so that their stay becomes a memorable experience.
